Itinerary

Day 01 |  Arrival 

Mopa airport to Tarkarli - 85 Km (2 hours drive) 

Kudal railway station to Tarkarli - 32 Km ( 45 minutes drive) 

Konkan can be accessed by air through the Mopa airport in North Goa or one of the many trains on the Konkan belt. On arrival you shall be received at the airport and transferred to your homestay in Tarkarli, check in, this day shall be for you to rest and relax and enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches of Tarkarli, dinner at a restaurant that specializes in Malvani cuisine, enjoy dinner with unlimited options of traditional preparations of veg, non veg and seafood preparations, overnight stay at the homestay. 

 

Day 02 | Oceans & Tarkarli 

Breakfast at the homestay, morning we shall explore the oceans 

Ocean Experiences - The oceans here are blessed with natural corals and with the help of professional divers you will experience Scuba diving to explore the underwater flora and fauna. Later enjoy snorkeling too in the shallow waters to enjoy the marine life. 

 

Post the ocean experiences, we continue the day with a visit to the mighty Sindhudurg Fort built by Chatrrapati Shivaji Maharaj. 

 

Later return to the hotel, freshen up, lunch at a local restaurant, post lunch have an interactive session with a local historian about the history of Konkan and the influences of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on this region. 

 

In the evening we shall have a heritage walk through the markets of Malvan, one of the oldest markets of the region, it is here that you will be able to shop for local spices, masalas and other items. 

 

Enjoy evening tea and some unique Malvani snacks at a local restaurant,

Dinner with barbeque at a local restaurant with unlimited options of traditional preparations of veg, non veg and seafood preparations, overnight stay in the hotel 


Day 03 | Wetlands & a man made wonder

Tarkarli to Dhamapur - 18 Km (35 minutes drive) 

Early morning by 0630 we shall drive to Dhamapur, a beautiful village in the lap of nature with greenery all round, we visit the Devi Bhagwati temple which is on the banks of a man made reservoir with endless greenery. Enjoy the amazing architecture of the temple that nestles itself next to the lake,  the Dhamapur lake is almost 450 years old and was conceived by the wisdom of the villagers who inhabited these lands then. Now this man made wonder has transformed into a very important bio diverse hot spot of the region which nourishes many villages in the surrounding. There is an ancient water management system that irrigates nearby villages. We shall take you on a boat through these streams to explore the importance of this system. We will be having packaged breakfast through this experience. Later return to the hotel by noon, have lunch and in the evening we shall take you sightseeing to the important temples and beaches in the vicinity.

Day 04 | Departure 

Tarkarli to Mopa Airport - 85 Km (2 hours drive) 

Tarkarli  to Kudal railway station - 32 Km ( 45 minutes drive)

Breakfast at the homestay, check out and you shall be transferred to the railway station or airport for your onward journey.
